This is one of a series of interviews completed by the Milton Historical Society (http://miltonhistoricalsociety.ca) as part of the production of the book "Milton Remembers WWII 1939-1945". Several veterans of Milton and the surrounding community were interviewed by MHS staff to document their experiences in Milton, their service to Canada in WWII and the impact that this had on their life. This interview differs from the others in the collection as it tells the story of Nelly Lorenz of Milton who spent her teenage years as a resident of Amsterdam, Holland. After the war, Nelly served in the Dutch Navy in the Far East, prior emigrating to Canada. The interview was completed by Ken Lamb on January 31, 1994 some 18 years after her settlement in Milton.
